Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) is a programme focused on eliminating hazardous chemicals from textile and footwear supply chains, particularly in wet processing operations such as dyeing, printing, and finishing. It sets out a Manufacturing Restricted Substances List (MRSL) that certified facilities must comply with, ensuring that harmful chemicals are not discharged into wastewater or retained in finished products. Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is one of the most recognised standards for organic textiles worldwide. It covers the entire supply chain, from raw fibre to finished product, ensuring that organic fibres are processed without harmful chemicals and that social criteria are met throughout production.
